Terms of Service

Anjin Ltd, trading as Anjin Design · Company no. 16378036 · Last updated 6 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Anjin Design. The billing section describes exactly how credits behave in the product — it is written from the system's actual behaviour, not from a template.

1Who we are

Anjin Design is operated by Anjin Ltd, registered in England and Wales. You can reach us at legal@anjin.design.

2The service

Anjin Design is a template authoring and image rendering platform. You design templates, mark parts of them as variable slots, and produce rendered images by filling those slots — through the web application, the REST API, the command-line tool, or an MCP client.

We may change, add or remove features. Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you in advance.

3Your account and API keys

You are responsible for activity under your account, including every render made with an API key issued from it. Keep keys secret; you can revoke them at any time in the dashboard, and you should if one is exposed.

You must be at least 18 and, if you are using the service for an organisation, be authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.

4Your content

Your templates, uploaded images, uploaded fonts and rendered output remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to host, process and render them so we can provide the service — nothing broader, and nothing for marketing without your separate agreement.

You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload. That includes font files: uploading a typeface means you hold a licence permitting its use in this way.

5Our content

The platform, editor, documentation and everything we provide remain ours or our licensors’. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer them, or resell raw API access as a competing rendering service.

6Acceptable use

Your use must comply with our acceptable use policy. Serious or repeated breach may result in suspension or termination.

7Credits, renders and billing

This section describes how the system actually behaves. If anything here differs from what the product does, the product is wrong and we want to know.

  • Credits are prepaid. A subscription grants a credit allowance each billing cycle. A top-up pack grants a one-off allowance. Rendering consumes credits.
  • A render costs scale² credits. One credit at standard resolution, four at 2×, nine at 3×, sixteen at 4×.
  • Failed renders are refunded automatically. A render that does not produce an image returns its credits. A successful render is not refundable.
  • There is a hard stop at zero. With insufficient credits the API returns HTTP 402 and no render happens. There is no metered overage and no automatic charge beyond the plan or pack you bought.
  • Plan changes are made through the billing portal. On an upgrade, the new plan’s allowance arrives at your next billing cycle rather than immediately; a proration may be charged for the difference, and does not itself grant credits.
  • Refunds reclaim credits. If a payment is refunded, the corresponding credits are reclaimed proportionally. Where the balance has already fallen below the amount to be reclaimed, it stops at zero and the difference is not recovered.
  • Plan credits are a monthly allowance. The credits included with a subscription are granted for that billing cycle and expire at the end of it — they are an allowance, not a balance you accumulate. Your dashboard shows how many are expiring and when. Unused plan credits do not roll over.
  • Purchased credits do not expire. Credits bought as a top-up pack, and the credits granted when you sign up, have no expiry date and remain available whether or not you hold a subscription. Where you hold both, plan credits are spent first, so the expiring ones are used before the permanent ones.
  • Billing is monthly, in GBP. No annual term is offered. Anjin Ltd is VAT registered, and every price shown on this site includes UK VAT at the applicable rate. Your Stripe invoice shows the VAT element separately.
  • Rate limits apply per key and per account, and batch requests are capped. Limits are documented and may be adjusted to protect the service.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details.

8Stored output

A completed render returns a permanent asset URL and a short-lived signed URL. We may introduce a retention period for stored render output on at least 30 days’ notice — so download or copy anything you need to keep indefinitely.

9Availability

We work hard to keep the service running but do not offer an uptime guarantee on self-serve plans. Maintenance, third-party outages and faults happen. If you need a contractual service level, talk to us.

10Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for indirect or consequential loss; and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

You are responsible for what you publish. Rendering an image does not mean we have checked that you hold the rights to its content.

11Termination

You may stop using the service and cancel at any time through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate an account for serious or repeated breach of these terms or the acceptable use policy.

On termination, unused credits are forfeited and stored content may be deleted. Export anything you need first.

12Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the application before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
